17 Goals to Transform Our World
The Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
The United Nations Association of the United States of America, Southern Palmetto State Chapter
(UNA-USA, SPSC) in partnership with the Global Humanitarian Chamber of Commerce is committed to joining forces to educate and bring awareness to the vital importance of these goals.
We are asking middle, high, and collegiate institutions around the United States to join us by participating in the 17 SDG Competition.
The mission of the competition is to educate, highlight, and promote understanding and the vital importance of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Understanding the relevance and sense of urgency to adopt, incorporate, and implement efforts to achieve the goals is imperative for our generation, the next generation, and generations to come.

The Grand Strand is a large stretch of beaches on the East Coast of the United States extending from Little River, SC to Georgetown, SC. It consists of more than 60 miles along an essentially uninterrupted arc of beach land, beginning around the Little River and terminating at Winyah Bay.

Mission: The 17 SDGs Executive Council aims to educate and advocate the mission and goals set by the United Nations and the United Nations Development Programme as it relates to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 17 SDGs Executive Council is focused on building community bridges, increasing understanding, and advocating for the 17 SDGs.
In recognizing the conjunction and interrelationship of the goals, it is vital to understand how one can impact another.
The Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection. I pray you and your families are well. My name is Doreen Williams. I am the President & CEO of UNA-USA, SPSC, and Founder, President & CEO of the 17 SDGs Executive Council. I've contacted your office with an urgent need for support and assistance during the horrific COVID-19 pandemic.
Our "Save 100,000 Lives by 2021" Campaign is designed to courage and educate on the vital importance of continuing to wear a mask. This single step can assist in decreasing the number of death caused by COVID-19. Please reference the attachment below: "Save 100,000 Lives by 2021" Campaign. We seek help to have the Campaign urgently displayed in your office, on the storefront window, or a highly digital billboard(s) within your official jurisdiction. Our mission is to enhance awareness, education, and understanding of the devastating impact of COVID-19 and support safety measures put in place by top scientific minds and authority.
The 17 SDGs Executive Council mission to educate, build community bridges, increase understanding, and advocate for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the United Nations' immediate call to action, with our first call to initiate the "Save 100,000 Lives by 2021" Campaign.
